WHO IS BEST CANDIDATE FOR PRP HAIR REGENERATION?

HOW PRP WORKS

Platelet-rich plasma is obtained from the patient’s whole blood after it is drawn from the patient’s arm and separated from the red cells using centrifugation (a special spinning process). The result is a golden Platelet-rich plasma which separates on top. This plasma is removed from the tube and injected into the scalp. Platelet-rich plasma contains multiple growth factors and cytokines that can stimulate and enhance hair follicle growth when injected into the scalp.

PRP WORKS BETTER IN CONJUNCTION WITH ACELL

Here at Omani Aesthetics, we use PRP in conjunction with ACell for best results. ACell is a cellular regeneration product which, has been used in wound healing but has recently been found to produce a longer hair growth period and stronger follicles in conjunction with PRP, than with PRP alone. ACell is an extracellular matrix which is derived from the porcine bladder and, in the micronized form, can be dissolved and injected into the scalp.  ACell works by stimulating new blood supply and adult stem cells.

WHEN ARE RESULTS SEEN AND HOW FREQUENT ARE TREATMENTS NEEDED?

Improved growth can be seen as early as 2-4 months, but maximal results are not seen until about a year. After a year, the patient ‘s hair is re-evaluated and a second treatment with PRP+ACell may be repeated. In some cases, the growth may be sustained for up to 2 years. Each individual may respond differently to this treatment and results vary.
