What to Expect After an O-Shot Procedure

October 20, 2020 By Omani Aesthetics

The O-Shot can effect many parts of the Female Orgasmic System.  The Female Orgasmic System involves tissues and organs all over the body.  These include the brain, the sacral parasympathetic nervous system, the pituitary gland, sex hormones like testosterone, estrogen, thyroid hormone, Human Growth Hormone (HGH), Prolactin and progesterone; urethra, clitoris and vagina.  The Female Orgasmic System is complex and is interconnected.  The O-Shot activates the clitoris, vagina and urethra.

I am going to cover only four aspect of the Female Orgasmic System as to what one can expect after the O-Shot.

Female Orgasm.  “Blood flow to the vagina supports arousal and orgasm.” (Activate the Female Orgasm System, C. Runels, p. 39)

The O-Shot improves blood flow to the clitoris, vagina and urethra due to the growth factors in the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) that is injected into those sites.  Orgasm is thus improved.

  •  Urinary Incontinence.  When the O-Shot is injected into the suburethral area, incontinence improves.  If there are no serious structural problems in the bladder neck, there is a 90% chance the the O-Shot will work.  (Activate the Female Orgasmic System, C. Runels, p. 97)
  • Decreased Libido (Decreased Sex Drive).  Decreased Libido is related hormonal imbalance.  Hormones should be checked prior to the O-Shot procedure.  After hormone levels are corrected, the O-Shot should be given.  By treating with the hormones first, the O-Shot is much more likely to be successful at increasing libido.
  • Dyspareunia.  There are multiple causes of dyspareunia (painful sex).

These may include ovarian, uterine, vaginal scarring (post delivery or trauma) or vulvar inflammation.  Dyspareunia is a difficult problem and any known causes should be addressed before trying the O-Shot.   There may be much improvement of dyspareunia with hormone replacement, especially in postmenopausal women.  The O-Shot should be tried after all the above factors have been addressed.

The O-Shot follows the Rule of Threes

  •             3 Days- the PRP is gone (3-14 days)
  •             3 Weeks- the effects of new cell growth starts (3 -6 weeks)
  •             3 Months- full effect of the procedure and new cell growth (2-4 months)

Three Days.  For the first three days after the O-Shot, not much happens noticeably in most clients.  Some may feel various sensations from increased blood flow to the injected area, the release of cytokines and growth factors from the PRP.  Others may feel dysuria, urinary frequency, hypersexuality, decreased sexuality.  All of these are due to the fact that there is swelling and possibly small hematoma that diminishes sensation.  None of these effects are permanent.

Three weeks.  At about 3 weeks, there is new blood flow and new tissue growth due to the growth factors released from the PRP.

Three Months.  At three months, the full benefit of the PRP is evident.  About 65% of those who get the O-Shot “Just love it”.  The first round and 85% of them love it after the second round.  These numbers show that there are complexities with some patients who have dyspareunia, incontinence,  lichen sclerosus or lack of any orgasm in their life.

Conclusion

The O-Shot addresses many issues in the Female Orgasmic System.  I have addressed only four of those issues here.  The results profile depends on what problem is being addressed.  Many women are benefitting from the O-Shot.

Hair Regeneration

WHAT IS HAIR REGENERATION?

Hair regeneration is a method of treating androgenetic hair loss through use of Plaetlet rich plasma (PRP) that restart the stalled hair follicle growth cycle.

WHAT TREATMENT METHOD IS USED TO REGENERATE HAIR GROWTH?

At Omani Beauty and Wellness, we use platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) + BioD amniotic/placenta Extracellular Matrix or micromatrix  (both are extracellular matrix) to inject the scalp where there are dormant follicles.  Platelet-rich- plasma contains multiple growth factors which kick start the growth of stalled hair follicles.  It is obtained by drawing blood from the patient’s arm.  The red cells are separated from the plasma by centrifugation.  The platelet-rich portion of the plasma is separated and injected into the scalp along with extracellular (ECM).

Micromatrix is an extracellular matrix derived from porcine bladder. BioD amniotic/placenta is an extracellular matrix derived from human amniotic placental membrane.  ECM has been used in the field of orthopedics and cosmetic surgery for years.  It serves as a scaffolding upon to which to build the growth of the dormant hair follicles.  Extracellular matrix transforms dormant adult stem cells into active cells that cause healing and reproduces tissue cell like the ones into which it is injected.  The combination of these products stops the hair loss and improves the caliber, length and coverage of the hair.

Vitamin D has also been shown, through studies, to assist hair regrowth. (Ref. below)

WHO QUALIFIES FOR PRP + ECM TREATMENT?

Androgenetic hair loss is best treated with PPR and ECM in both men and women.  It is a combination of genetics and hormones.   It may stem from either side of the family.  In men, androgenic hair loss manifests as a receding hair line and thinning of the crown.  If unchecked, the condition progresses over time to baldness.  The follicles shrink and miniaturize the hair.  Finally, the follicle does not grow at all and disappears.  There must be follicles remaining before PRP + ECM can work.

In women, androgenetic hair loss occurs just as frequent as it does in men.  Women usually present with generalized thinning all over the scalp.   It may be related to the actions of androgen hormones related to ovarian cysts, birth control pills with high levels of androgens, pregnancy or menopause.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

With PRP + ECM hair loss stops about 2 months after treatment and thickening of the follicles begins.  Hair growth in the length and caliber of the strands are noted around 4-6 months.  The full effect of the injections Is noted at about one year. Usually only one injection is required in most patients.  A second injection may be given, if necessary, after one year.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

There is no reaction to the patient’s own PRP which is from their own blood.  However, there may be bruising, mild pain or irritation at injection site.   Micromatrix is derived from porcine bladder.  For those who are allergic to pork or have religious objections to use of porcine bladder, BioD amniotic/placenta ECM can be used.  Usually local anesthetic is applied to the balding area or a nerve block is used for large areas.  There may be little discomfort from this procedure, but once anesthesia is established the actual PRP + ECM injections are not painful.

Botox: The Truth About This Anti-Aging Treatment

October 9, 2018 By Omani Aesthetics

Botox injection is one of the most frequently utilized aesthetic services.   It is used to temporarily diminish forehead wrinkles, glabellar frown lines and crow’s feet. Most people who use Botox do so on a regular basis (4-6 months apart). Those who use it, “can’t live without it”, while some who never used it think, “that stuff is dangerous”. What are the real facts about Botox? In this article, I will go over the ABC’S of Botox/Dysport.

WHAT IS BOTOX/DYSPORT?

Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators which effect the nerves that control muscle movements. Both Botox and Dysport are produced from the toxin of a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum. Botulinum toxins are safe in small amounts when given to humans. Dysport is a slightly smaller molecule than Botox so the number of units of Dysport needed would be 2 ½ to 3 times greater than Botox units in the same patient.

How Do Botox / Dysport Work?

Both Botox and Dysport are injected in small quantities into the muscles of the forehead, glabellar region (between eyes) and around the lateral eye for Crow’s feet. These injections are typically performed in a qualified injector’s office. Nurses may inject them after proper training and under supervision of a medical doctor. Usually no anesthesia is administered because the needle used is like an insulin injection needle, however, an ice pack may be applied to the area before and after the injection for added comfort. These injections work by temporarily relaxing the muscles so that the skin above them becomes smoother. You may want to consider getting Botox if you are not getting desired results with wrinkle creams or serums.

What are the Side Effects of Botox/Dysport?

Minor effects include bruising, redness, discomfort at injection site, and headache (up to 9%)

Less common side effects include:

  1. Lid ptosis (drooping) in 3%
  2. Brow drop (ptosis) may last up to 6 weeks in 2%
  3. Flu-like symptoms/nausea
  4. Unwanted changes in expression
  5. Distant spread of the product (unlikely with cosmetic use)

Spread of Toxin Effect:

Although there have been no serious adverse event reports of distant spread of toxin effect associated with dermatological use of Botox Cosmetic at the labeled dosage range, there have been adverse reactions for unapproved use of Botox. Severe effects include difficulty breathing or swallowing if the toxin moves into areas that effect these functions.

Who should not receive Botox?

  1. Those who are hypersensitive to botulinum toxin
  2. Allergy to eggs. Botox is prepared with albumin from eggs.
  3. Infection in the treatment area
  4. Pregnancy (relative contraindication, category C)

FDA- Approved indications for Botox/Dysport Use

There are 3 FDA-approved indications for Botox Cosmetic use for facial treatment. These are forehead, glabella and crow’s feet.

OFF LABEL USE OF BOTOX COSMETIC

There are more off label uses of Botox on the face and neck than there are FDA-approved indications. Some are listed below:

  1. Muscles (depressor arguli oris) pull down edges of lip forming a frown. Botox/Dysport is injected into both sides of face to correct this appearance.
  2. The masseter muscle which connects the cheekbone to the lower jaw is used for chewing. Botox is injected into the masseter muscle for improvement of TMJ symptoms and to slim down the face over time.
  3. Chin: The mentalis muscle may cause an “orange peel chin”. Botox diminishes this appearance and may last up to 6 months.
  4. Nose and Upper Lip

Nasalis Muscle. Nasalis movement can cause “bunny lines” that appear on the bridge of the nose under the skin below the eyebrows. Botox/Dysport are injected high upon the nose on either side and diffuses down to the nasalis muscle. The “bunny lines” are diminished.

  1. Gummy Lines show an excessive amount gum tissue when you smile. The responsible muscle is the risorious, a large muscle located on both sides of the mouth. Botox/Dysport injected into this muscle near the lower nose and upper lip reduce the muscle’s activity and lessons the amount of gums exposed when smiling.

Summary

As you can see there are many usages of Botox/Dysport in the field of Aesthetics. Proper training and qualification are critical to minimizing side effects and complications of their use. The power of Botox/Dysport to minimize signs of aging is phenomenal. Many who start the process of minimizing signs of aging at an earlier age really defy their age. In this article we have covered most of the cosmetic usages of Botox/Dysport, their side effects, indications, adverse reactions and off-label uses. I hope this information is helpful to you.
